Yesterday Mom, Dad and I met with Dr. Zakari to go over the official results of the Cat Scan and determine the next course of treatment.

We already knew the mass shrunk in half based on the phone call his nurse had with mom a few weeks ago but hearing what he had to say in his own words is what we had been waiting for.

The one word we heard over and over was ‘Excellent’.. this is ‘Excellent’. Mom has endured 8 rounds of Chemo in 5 months. We cannot even begin to imagine what she is going through physically and mentally but she is fighting this horrible disease like a champ.  It was absolutely amazing to see her first Cat Scan in March compared to now. She is above average in how well these tumors have responded to treatment.

Dr. Zakari wants her to finish 4 more rounds of Chemo which will put her into October. Once that’s completed, another Cat Scan will be done to determine if the treatments can be reduced.

It’s times like this that give you hope and encouragement. xo
